30The life in Burapha University is quite different from that in Chulalongkorn University. As we had first-hand experience of modernization and convenience in Bangkok, we also were touched by a wild, natural, fresh city which is called Chanthaburi.In the brilliant and short week, we met lots of warmhearted Burapha students who always gave us support and help and lovely Chinese students who enjoyed the summer course with us together. Meeting Dean of Faculty of Marine Technology and staffs, visiting Sea Farm and Research Facility of BUU, having a treasure hunting game with random teammates, we gradually opened our heart to the new friends with different nationalities through the first day tour.The next plan is wonderful, too. After a long time moving to the Trat Province, a new world we have never seen before is there. It’s a fisheries community of Namchiow subdistrict where we would stay overnight and experience the livelihood by homestay program. We knew the story of leader of the eco tourism group BANNAMCHIOW community. The lively lady came up with the community because the fisheries depend on weather and other factors and they cannot always take enough fishes back. In the other hand, villagers don't want their young to leave, so the community gives them jobs. In the past, villagers were all poor and in debt. After the community was set up, they paid off debt, have own money and become happy. It's so interesting to know how a poor fisheries village changed their life to a bright future. But it’s just a beginning. Fishermen took us to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery, then we stopped and let almost everyone jump into water. The surprising mission is to search for a kind of shell with long tail, which is so delicious while we ate it as a dish of dinner. Our members were so active that our boat got the most harvest. The most interesting event that day is to change our dress to Muslim clothes. It's so hot but beautiful. Watched kids' performance, the traditional Muslim dance, then we imitated them to dance again. The moment we played and laughed just like children is unforgettable.We visited so many places later, Kung Kraben Royal Project, Chaoloaw beach, Maritime Museum, Gem Market and so on. The plan we had looked like a holiday tour, but it actually let us learn a lot. Maybe you think you have known everything through the books, internet, or other ways. But the real experience will tell you the truth??There is something we can never get without first-hand experience. If you go to feel the world with your eyes and heart, the stiff impression, prejudice and misunderstanding will melt like snow in the sunshine. In the foreign land, we can always find something we have never seen, never thought, never done before.
